With the most recent COVID-19 updates, we are continually evaluating how to safely deliver Evergreen Brick Works programs. Stay up-to-date on our website, Instagram, Twitter or Facebook as the situation evolves.

Mask Policy

With the health and safety of our community as a top priority, we are adhering to the guidelines set by health officials to reduce COVID-19 transmission through wearing masks indoors at all times, and outdoors when physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Masks are currently mandatory at Evergreen Brick Works to enter any facility or program space, indoor or outdoor. This applies to the following programs that currently operate: Saturday Farmers MarketEvergreen Garden MarketBrewing Bean Mobile Coffee Bar, Public Washrooms and order pick-up from Café Belong.

Our mandatory mask policy is firm and is not determined by staff working on the ground. We have both a Joint Health and Safety Committee and COVID-specific Recovery Committee that have reviewed and approved these protocols. Our staff on site do not have the authority to amend these policies, and continuing to request exceptions to our policies puts those front-line staff in an extremely difficult position.

Reasonable accommodations for those who cannot wear a mask have been put in place. These accommodations include purchasing online with pick-up on site, or designating a staff person to shop on behalf of the individual who isn’t able to wear a mask. These accommodations allow us to create a safe space for everyone in the community.

The Saturday Farmers Market has returned to its outdoor space in the Pavilions. The market is scheduled to operate from 8am to 1pm. Please note that the location may change week to week as we continue to adapt.

Market:

The Saturday Farmers Market moves back indoors this Saturday for the winter season! The province has amended the Reopening Ontario Act to include farmers’ markets as essential retail.

Thanks to Evergreen’s markets team, vendors, community, market goers, public health officials and the market network across the city, we can continue to provide residents with access to fresh, healthy and local food during this winter season.

For this week, the market will operate from 8am-1pm.

Thank you for your advocacy and flexibility over the past couple weeks!

Market Pick-Up:

Whenever possible, we highly encourage online ordering. Your market orders will be pre-packaged and ready to take home in a new pickup location outside of the market space.

Pre-order by Thursday at noon for pick-up Saturday. Order at evergreen.ca/farmersmarket

Market pickup will be available from 8:30am-1pm.

Skating:

Public skating at Evergreen Brick Works launches December 27, starting every Sunday from 1-5pm. Please note, the decision to pause public skating on Saturdays is to maintain fewer people on-site during the Saturday Farmers Market.

Booking a time slot in advance is mandatory for public skating. A deposit is required to hold your spot, which will be returned when you arrive. More information to come on how to book coming soon!

In the meantime, get ready for public skating with skating lessons! Youth lessons are available starting this weekend, with spots still available! For more information on the skating rink and lessons, visit evergreen.ca/skating
